OK, 3rd night on the bike last night and it did the same. thing. again! Cleaned the carbs, started her up perfectly, idled for a bit, steadily idled worse and worse, then she cut out, then cant start agen!
All we've adjusted is the idle screw, (sounds obvious that that's the problem???) however that is now in the same place it was before we started messing with it? So I cant work out why it wont idle properly?
Unless when I 1st screwed them all the way in they've been damaged slightly? they didnt seem to screw in very nicely? and maybe even thou the idle screw is turned out 2 1/4 turns like it should be, its actually broken n still running lean???
I don't know the nc90 (VFR in the States) But can't you back the needles out all the way and have a look at them?
ReplyDeleteAnd that's a V-4 right? I assume you've done all the carburetor synchronization - maybe a bad diaphragm?
Best of luck. I've been sorting out a carb issue on my cb550 for 3 years.

Hey, yeh thats the plan now, to completely remove the idle screws and have a proper look at them, i suspect they have broken after i screwed them all in?
ReplyDeletefor now we actually removed the carbs off my race NC30 and stuck them on me mates and it worked straight away!
problem is, he failed his test on Thursday just gone, so regardless of all the work we've done, we're not gonna be able to go on the bikes anymore! shit!
Vauxhall Corsa VXR to the rescue! lol.
Cheers those Brady, I will investigate this problem further upon our return from Le Mans and let you know what I find. Cheers
